Not stated in the Acts of the Privy Council, Colonial Series but Smith (p.203) in his footnote says that the two appeals “never came to a hearing. Mead, dissatisfied with the relief ordered at the Council Board petitioned the House of Commons for redress . . . but without success.” For more details, note the many references to sections of the Calendar of State Papers, Colonial in Smith’s footnote. Also, volume 13 of the Journal of the House of Commons (p.755–756) (Google Books) provides a list of papers relating to Mr. Mead and Mr. Shipman’s case. |
